How do I request a title from other libraries?                  Back

Please search the Library catalog if you have not done so.  There might be a copy currently available. If not found, and you wish to borrow a copy from other libraries, you may do one of the following:
  • Check out a copy from Central Texas area libraries.
Austin Public Library, UT-Austin, Austin Community College might have a copy of what you are looking for.  Click on the links to search their catalogs.  Once you have located a copy and are ready to go to that library to check it out, you need to get a TexShare Card at a Public Service desk and find out the lending policy of the library at http://www.texshare.edu/generalinfo/about/programs.html .

  • Fill out a request form and borrow a copy from libraries nation wide. (Inter-Library Loan Service)
You may get the form at One of the Public Service desks or download it here.  Please return it to any service desk.

  • Fill out the request online yourself.  You must have a valid library card without fines.
    • Step one:  Click on WorldCat and enter you library card number to log on.  Disable your security software such as Norton if error occurs.
    • Step two: Search the database for the item you need.
    • Step Three: Click on the title you want.
    • Step Four: Click on the button toward the top of the page labeled “ILL.”
    • Step Five: Follow instructions to fill out the form. Click on the “submit” button, and your request will go to RRPL’s interlibrary loan librarian.
